CLOSET CLASSICS: TALL BROWN BOOTS

I have a long standing love affair with tall, brown boots - it started with Frye riding boots in high school (you know the ones I’m talking about!) and has only grown from there. From cowboy to high heeled, you name it, it's in my closet.

These boots are made for…

Walking, shopping, strutting, dancing…you name it!

The most important evolution in my brown boot collection has been the addition of heeled styles that carry me through the Fall & Winter, as most of my wardrobe is made up of warm neutrals. High heeled boots are my go-to to elongate my legs and add some sass to a potentially boring outfit. Are you wearing your winter uniform of a sweater and jeans to dinner, but want to feel a little more edgy without trying too hard? Throw on a pair of heeled boots. Want to take your favorite simple dress from stuffy to sexy? Add boots. I could keep going, but I think you get the idea!

Why buy boots now?

You may be wondering why I’m talking about boots this late in the season, but I assure you, now is actually the perfect time to buy boots! I don’t recommend skimping on quality when it comes to boots - it’s easy to spot a cheap material when it’s covering the entire lower half of your leg - so you’ll probably end up spending more on a a pair of boots than any other type of shoe in your closet. The good news is, because Spring is fast approaching, most retailers are putting their boot inventory on major sale over the coming weeks to make room for Spring styles, so now is the time to snag a major deal.

I’ve included a few of my favorite brown boots from this season, most of them on sale, below. Almost all of these are closet staples that will undoubtedly be in style for years to come. The only exceptions are the snake print & croc skin boots - these are on the trendier side, but if you’ve been eyeing similar styles all year and didn’t want to pay full price, now’s the time to pull the trigger!
